While the Knight of Cups Reversed highlights semi-truths and undercurrents in relationships, when you touch on your feelings, you may just get a lightbulb moment. On some level the colour has been drained from yourself and a relationship. Are you only focused on feeding your senses and denying what your higher self or deeper self desires? You have a handle on what satisfies you on a superficial level – now you need to nourish your solid self. It’s about moving forward and letting go, particularly with relationships that are swimming in a pool of mud.

The only way to change emotionally stuck relationships is for both parties to own and be willing to change dysfunctional behaviour or relating techniques. The Reversed Knight of Cups doesn’t do relationship drama or craziness well, tending to retreat rather than deal. Increased demands within a relationship are uncomfortable, leading to resentment of pounding pressure – emotionally, sexually and mentally. Your feelings head south when lies, manipulation or deception show their ugly face, as you duck the drain of energy landing on your plate.

On the flip side, providing there isn’t too much water under your bridge, you can turn this on its head with a little understanding, compassion and honest communication in the mix. As you compete and struggle with others who want to parallel your success, keep your head high. It’s about repeatedly proving yourself, as others desire the same position as you. The spectrum of arenas this could occur starts at career and finances, spreads over to relationships, or takes its place within your family and social circle. The challenge is about knowing what you are capable of and staying on top! As this card is not in its Reversed mode, it won’t be difficult to maintain your position, because your strength and determination will be powerful. Continue to stand up for what you believe in and don’t be afraid to face-off with people who try to block you. You know the type, the one-hit wonder – the bitch-slapper – the one you send packing, who moans they were the perfect specimen of gentleness and goodliness – self-denial personified! The ‘charmingdude’ who has a little too much to drink and proceeds to brag about their violence towards women, seriously shocking their group of open-mouthed listeners! The very deluded person, who normally parades around like a gentleman, suddenly exhibits his true colours.

The one who hides behind a facade of ‘romantic troubadour come perfect house-husband’ – but in reality they are the personified drunken loser, with a diametrically opposed side to them behind closed doors/in the domestic zone.Types such as this are streaming through our community right about now!. They talk the talk, but they are seriously unable to walk it… They are notorious for conning others with their BS, disguising their bad attitude towards women.They generally lack coping skills and roll in anger management issues. Sadly, they repeat the same dysfunctional scenario with one woman, and another woman, followed by another woman – serial abusers. Heed the red alert, girls!

TAROT TIP: OLD-SCHOOL OUT!

Those original old-school Tarot card meanings (usually sadly accompanying ‘traditional’Tarot decks) tend to reflect the rather negative mentality of the collective consciousness at the time they were written (similar to the Bible – but that’s another show!). Times have vastly changed – it’s the Age of Aquarius, and unlike the last Age of Pisces, the majority of us are not following ‘leaders’ so much, but finding our true following within ourselves, through our personal experiences and via positive modes of self-healing. It’s about individuality in the Aquarian Age, and this needs to be reflected in reading the Tarot. There are no bad or negative Tarot cards – a collection of Swords in a spread does not indicate disaster, just as The Tower in a prominent place does not mean full-blown catastrophe (even the global Tower 9/11 could have been avoided). It so much depends on where these unfairly judged cards are placed in a spread, which cards may be beside or in angle to them, what the question or topic is, who is doing the reading, and so much more.  It is always about the big picture, not one individual card (unless you are pulling one for a quickie!). On par with reading a horoscope chart – taking individual planets or signs on their own has very little value, because other components of the chart could lessen, twist or partially eradicate that influence.We are not at the mercy of the cards or the planets, they are for guidance only – we have choice, we create our own life story. I am not implying that warnings should not be relayed, but telling someone concrete doom-and-gloom is on the horizon, puts them on the road to making this happen.  Giving the option to turn a possible negative into a possible positive needs to accompany any reading. It is not about being right, it is about giving guidance and assisting clients on their path. Instilling fear in a clients’ head is hardly realism, it is actually close to sadism and very ego-based. The days of darkness are over – choose to move with the Light.

Tarot Tip: Two of Cups/The Lovers – Loved-up or Honeymoon Over?

When the Two of Cups or The Lovers card is situated next to or in connection to, say, the Ace of Wands or Ace of Cups, clearly a new relationship is on the horizon or a current relationship has a positive stage coming up  or may shift to the next level.  On the flip side, envision the Lovers or Two of Cups reversed beside, say, The Tower, Death or Eight of Cups – this can indicate a make-or-break time for a relationship, big adjustments need to be made, the rose-coloured glasses come off, or one party is ready to walk. Or else, it may be a one-sided attraction on the cards, or a new contender could be a little toxic or doesn’t tick the right boxes. Play around with your deck, and see how things stand in your relationship or potential one…
